One of the most popular metering services we offer is to do with installing a granny flat electricity meter. Please keep in mind that this process takes time, so allow around 3-weeks for us to submit and gain necessary approvals to install a new electrical meter. How Much to Install an Electric Meter?
The cost to install an electric meter may differ due to variables. Typically it costs around $1,200 to install an electricity meter to a switchboard that requires no additional works. Your best bet is to get in touch with CCES, this will enable us to provide you with a more accurate quote. You can either give us a call or submit an online quote request.
Electricity Metering
One of the most popular questions we are asked tends to revolve around off peak metering and saving money on electricity. Did you know that not all meters have on off peak capabilities? If you want to save on your electricity bill with certain appliances e.g. pool pumps, hot water systems, then you should look at installing an off peak meter. Please see the general metering periods below (may not be completely accurate);
Peak: Monday – Friday: 2 pm – 8 pm (please note that this excludes public holidays).
Shoulder: Monday – Friday: 7 am – 2 pm and 8 pm – 10 pm. Weekends and Public Holidays: 7 am – 10 pm
Off Peak: All other times not mentioned above.
Electric Meter Disconnect or Relocation
Need your electric meter disconnected or relocated? We are qualified to conduct works to move an electrical meter if you need to relocate your electric meter box. If you need an electric meter disconnect in order to move your electrical switchboard, we can do these works in the one day. The most popular times when our metering services are required is; when a secondary dwelling/granny flat is being built, you are knocking down a dwelling and/or you require temporary builders power.
